HISTORY

Tracy McCommon is the host of the “Wildlife Matters” TV series and President & Founder of Nature Wise, Inc. In 1985, Tracy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (with a background in Advertising) from Lock Haven University. In 1993, she obtained her second B.A. in Radio/Television Communications from the University of Central Florida. Tracy moved to Orlando in 1989, and began working at Christian radio station WAJL 1190 AM where she quickly worked her way up to Operations Manager and Production Director. She then took a position with WFTV Channel 9 in Orlando as an assistant in the “Action Office” of the newsroom.

Her passion for TV eventually led her to WMFE Ch 24—a PBS station in Orlando—where she worked as a Production Assistant and advanced to Associate Producer, then Producer.  A door then opened at Orange TV Ch 9, the local government access station in Orange County, Florida where Tracy produced and hosted her own TV program called “Pet Chat,” designed to help citizens become better pet owners.

In 2002, Tracy began hosting and producing the “Wildlife Matters” series with her company "Positive Productions." In January of 2006, she founded the non-profit organization Nature Wise, Inc. which took over production of the “Wildlife Matters” series in order to secure additional funding sources, improve program distribution and ensure uninterrupted production of the programs. Armed with a strong passion for conservation, preservation and protection of native wildlife, Tracy provides a "voice" for the animals who cannot speak for themselves. As a wildlife and nature advocate, over the course of 20 years Tracy has secured a platform through the "Wildlife Matters" series from which she serves wildlife populations, and human populations as well. Her mission is to inspire and educate her viewers on how to become more involved in helping to preserve our precious ecological heritage throughout Florida, and across the United States.
